Gretl

How Gretl works

Track every breadcrumb.

Tell Gretl what you ate, in your own words. It does the arithmetic, watches the trend, and coaches you without the guilt.

Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.

  1. Log it your way.

“Two eggs with toast” is enough. Add as much detail as you want, or keep it simple. No database to search, no weighing, no portion dropdowns. Or snap a photo of the plate.

  2. Your favorites, one tap away.

The breakfast you have four mornings a week doesn't need typing out again. Save it once, and it's waiting for you whenever you need it.

  3. It's the journey, not the day.

Fourteen days at a glance, your average drawn against your target. One heavy Saturday is just a step along the way.

  4. You choose what counts.

Your target starts from the Mifflin-St Jeor equation and adapts to the energy balance your own data shows. Macros come as standard; water and cholesterol only if you want them. When it wants to move, it asks first.

  5. Notifications, on your terms.

Every reminder is off until you turn it on, at the times you choose. No streaks to keep, and nothing that goes off because you went quiet.

The same app in its light appearance: the home screen, with rings for calories and macros above the day's log.
The home screen: rings for calories, protein, carbs, fat and cholesterol, two meals logged, and the coach answering in plain language.

Logging takes seconds

Write a meal the way you'd say it out loud, or photograph the plate. Gretl reads it, estimates the calories and macros, and shows its working so you can correct it.

Arithmetic, not vibes

Your daily target comes from the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, then moves with the energy balance your own logs and weigh-ins show. You can pin your own number instead, and it will hold to it.

A coach with the numbers in front of it

Ask how your week is going and you get an answer from your actual data — no API key, no setup, no subscription to start. Pick the model it runs on if you care to.

Meals aren't moral events

No streaks to break, no shame, no nagging. Reminders exist only if you ask for them, at times you choose, and your data is yours to export or delete outright.
